Rohit Arya, on Thursday, brought Mumbai to a standstill and sent shockwaves across the nation after he took 17 children hostage. In his last video, Rohit claimed that he took 17 children hostage at a Powai audition theatre.

Rohit further claimed that he was not a "terrorist" and took children hostage over payment of "dues" from the government. The Mumbai Police rushed to the spot, shot Rohit Arya dead, and rescued all 17 children in a 3.5-hour-long operation.

During checks, the Police found an airgun and an inflammable spray from Rohit. Police found that Rohit had called the children to the Powai theatre for an 'audition', but held them captive. The incident occurred at RA Studio at Mahavir Classic, a commercial-cum-residential building in Powai.
