The Haryana Government, inspired by the ideals of Maharishi Valmiki, has taken several steps for the upliftment of the most deprived sections of society.
Maharishi Valmiki was a visionary sage who spread light in darkness through his knowledge. He emphasized that the Ramayana is not merely a scripture but a guide to life.
The State Government is celebrating the birth anniversaries of great personalities like Maharishi Valmiki, Sant Kabir Das, Sant Ravidass, and Baba Saheb Dr. BR Ambedkar at the state level with great enthusiasm to propagate their thoughts to the masses.
Addressing the district-level programme in Panipat, Haryana Minister of Development, Panchayats, and Mining, Sh. Krishan Lal Panwar said that Maharishi Valmiki was not only the first poet (Adikavi) but also wove the soul of India into words. As the composer of the timeless epic Ramayana, Maharishi Valmiki conveyed messages of humanity, compassion, and harmony, which remain as relevant today as ever.
Sh. Panwar said that we are descendants of such great teachers from whom we have drawn inspiration and guidance to move forward. He urged people to educate children, as the progress of the nation, recognition, and growth of society depend on education.
Haryana Cooperation Minister Dr. Arvind Sharma, while addressing the Maharishi Valmiki Jayanti programme in Sonipat, extended heartfelt greetings on the occasion and said that today is not just a festival, but a day of inspiration. Whenever humanity goes astray, a great personality appears to guide it.
He said that Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi has realised the dream of millions of Indians by constructing the grand Shri Ram Temple in Ayodhya. He conveyed that when determination is strong, even the impossible can be made possible.
The Ram Temple is not merely an architectural marvel but a symbol of our culture, faith, and unity. He added that the life of Maharishi Valmiki teaches that a person, irrespective of circumstances, can transform their life through the right path and righteous deeds.
Haryana Minister of Public Works (Buildings and Roads) Sh. Ranbir Singh Gangwa, addressing the programme in Hisar, said that Maharishi Valmiki, the first poet, gifted humanity the divine story of Shri Ram. He stated that Valmiki was a Brahma Gyaani, and a symbol of compassion, kindness, and equality in humanity.
Drawing inspiration from his ideals and teachings, the state government is continuously working for the upliftment of all sections of society.The Cabinet Minister said that integrating the deprived into the mainstream is the true tribute to Maharishi Valmiki.
To bring Scheduled Castes into the mainstream, the government has divided reservations into two categories - Deprived Scheduled Castes and Other Scheduled Castes. Of the 20 percent reservation in government jobs for Scheduled Castes, 10 percent quota has been allocated to deprived groups. Additionally, 20 percent reservation is ensured in first and second category posts as well.
Haryana Health and AYUSH Minister Arti Singh Rao, addressing the district-level programme in Panchkula, extended greetings on Maharishi Valmiki Jayanti and said that Maharishi Valmiki conveyed messages of truth, dignity, and humanity that continue to guide our lives.
She said that his life teaches us that through knowledge, penance, and service, anyone can transform the direction and condition of their life. He was not merely a poet but also a symbol of equality and social change.The Health Minister said that various schemes have been launched for the safety and dignity of sanitation workers.
In case of death during duty, workers receive financial assistance of ₹5 lakh, and if death occurs during sewage cleaning, ₹10 lakh is provided. The life of Maharishi Valmiki inspires us that when thoughts are positive, actions are sincere, and the purpose is service, success is inevitable.
