Hoshiarpur, April 8: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann made significant announcements on Tuesday aimed at enhancing health and infrastructure in the state.

He laid the foundation stone for a medical college and a 300-bed hospital, with an investment of ₹268 crores. Additionally, he announced the establishment of the Shaheed Udham Singh State Institute of Medical Sciences, which is expected to be completed within two years.

Addressing a public gathering in Chaurasi, Mann emphasized that the Aam Aadmi Party government is dedicated to providing world-class health services to every household. He revealed that under this initiative, 100 MBBS doctors will be trained annually, and facilities such as MRI, CT scans, specialized surgeries, and modern treatments will be made available.

To strengthen health services at the grassroots level, the Chief Minister also laid the foundation for a community health center costing ₹9.18 crores, which will benefit over 40 villages. Furthermore, seven additional Health and Wellness Centers will be established in the region.

Mann also inaugurated the Balachaur-Garhshankar-Hoshiarpur-Dasua road project, which has a budget of ₹99 crores. This 105-kilometer corridor will enhance connectivity between Chandigarh, Pathankot, and Jammu & Kashmir, reducing travel time between Jammu and Delhi, and facilitating pilgrims visiting Anandpur Sahib, Mata Naina Devi, and Mata Jwala Ji.

After laying the foundation stones for various projects, the Chief Minister remarked that opposition parties had exploited the state for 70 years post-independence, hindering development. He claimed that comprehensive development has been ensured in the last four years, with the government fulfilling promises made to the people in record time.

He stated that Punjab is now progressing in the right direction towards becoming a 'Rangla Punjab', with continuous efforts being made. Mann also highlighted that the Aam Aadmi Party is the first government in the country to fully implement its manifesto.

Targeting opposition parties, he accused them of conspiring to tarnish the government's image out of fear of its accomplishments.
