Amidst the growing internal dispute within RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav's family, Union Minister and Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) chief Chirag Paswan has weighed in, stating he understands the emotional strain revealed by Rohini Acharya and prays for a swift resolution to their internal conflict.
Speaking to reporters, Paswan stated, “Political differences are one thing, but that family is also my family. When there is tension in any family, I can understand how unsettling it can be.”
Paswan further emphasized, “I do not believe that after marriage, the in-laws’ house is the only home for a daughter. I do not support this conservative thinking. When she (Rohini) said all this yesterday, I could understand that pain, and I pray that all of this is resolved soon.”
The Central Minister mentioned he would not comment further as he can relate to the mental state of a family going through such a difficult situation. He said, “I have been through this too. We may have political differences, but I have always considered Lalu Ji's family as my own.”
He added, “Be it Tejashwi, Tej, Misa, or Rohini, I have considered them my siblings. Therefore, I pray that this family dispute is resolved as soon as possible. If there is unity in the family, a person can fight external difficulties too… The family must be going through tough times.”
Chirag’s comments come a day after Rohini Acharya announced her intention to “quit politics” and her “estrangement” from her family. Rohini’s explosive social media post had caused a stir, articulating her pain of being ostracized, made to feel worthless, and the burden placed upon her.
She had written, “Yesterday a daughter, a sister, a married woman, a mother was insulted, abused, shoes were raised to hit her… I did not compromise my self-respect, did not abandon the truth… only because of this I had to suffer the humiliation. Yesterday a daughter, in helplessness, left her crying parents and siblings behind… she was forced to leave her maternal home… she was made an orphan… I pray that none of you have to walk my path, and that no home has a daughter or sister like Rohini.”
