Amid this, another video began spreading where police officers flogged a boy, and many posts falsely alleged that the victim in this one was the same as in the 19-minute viral video. Officials then later tried to explain the situation and believed that there was no connection between the video of the boy being beaten and the previous MMS clip.

Investigators determined that the attack video was filmed in Ahmedabad's Vasahli neighbourhood over eight months ago. The footage is linked to a November incident in which a gang of lawbreakers allegedly beat people with sticks, clubs, and swords, as well as damaged vehicles. According to authorities, the case resulted in the arrest of 14 persons, one of whom was a kid, and his footage is currently being erroneously linked to the MMS controversy.

Authorities have encouraged the general public not to broadcast unverified news and to establish facts before posting critical information on social media. Experts suggest that these viral MMS are created just to exploit people's curiosity and that, with the use of AI and deepfake technology, such fake videos tend to increase confusion.
