REASI, 19 October (H.S)
The day of Eid-Milad-Ul-Nabi is commemorated as the birthday of Prophet Mohammad, which comes in the third month in Islamic calendar.
In continuation with the ongoing efforts to connect with Awam through local traditions, customs and festivals, Indian Army celebrated Eid-Milad-Ul-Nabi at Mahore, Dandihala and Gool in district Reasi (J&K). The local population celebrates the occasion with utmost pomp and show and prepares Sweet Rice at their home to celebrate the occasion. Accordingly, Indian Army celebrated the festival with Awam of these remote areas by distributing gifts and sweets at Masjid and Madarsas, thereby enhancing the joy of celebration. The fervor of these traditional festivals is best cherished by involving with villagers and participation of Indian Army in these events would further assist in strengthening the bond between Awam and the Indian Army.
