In recent days, social media platform X's generative AI chatbot, Grok, has been increasingly misused, with users using it to create obscene content. This growing trend has raised the central government's concern, and India's Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (IT Ministry) has taken strict action and ordered X to immediately review its Grok AI technology.

Along with this, the government has directed that whatever action is taken or review is done in this matter, the report should be given to the Central Government within 72 hours.

Why did the government take this decision?

In fact, X-users would post photos and instruct the bot to remove a woman's clothing to display her in a more provocative pose. Grok often outputs altered photos of women without permission, resulting in sexually explicit alterations, which violates the platform's own policies and Indian laws.

Therefore, the government has now taken action against the ongoing trend of misogyny. If the platform fails to ensure this, it could face legal action.
