Recent reports confirm that the actress is not part of the project, putting an end to ongoing rumours.

The film is the third installment of the popular Oh My God! franchise, which began with the 2012 hit and continued with OMG 2 in 2023.

How the Rumours Started

Earlier reports suggested that Rani Mukerji might play a villainous role opposite Akshay Kumar in the film. Speculation intensified when Akshay congratulated the actress on the release of Mardaani 3 and referred to her as "Devi," which many interpreted as a hint toward her involvement in Oh My Goddess.

However, new information indicates that Rani was never officially signed for the project.

Creative Differences Led to Exit

According to reports citing industry sources, the film's director Amit Rai had narrated the script to Rani Mukerji, and the actress was reportedly impressed by the story.

But discussions did not progress further due to creative differences between the actress and the director. While she appreciated the concept, certain elements of the script reportedly did not align with her expectations, leading her to step away from the project.

Makers Searching for New Female Lead

With Rani Mukerji no longer involved, the makers are now looking for another actress to take on the female lead role in the film.

Originally, the movie was expected to begin shooting in April 2026, but the schedule has now been slightly delayed. Production is likely to start around May-June 2026 after casting is finalised.

Akshay Kumar to Have a Cameo

The film is being produced by Akshay Kumar in association with Viacom18. Reports suggest that the actor will appear in an extended cameo role, while the story will focus on new characters.

Despite the casting changes, Oh My Goddess remains one of the most anticipated sequels in Akshay Kumar's lineup, which also includes upcoming films like Hera Pheri 3, Bhagam Bhag 2, and Welcome to the Jungle.
