The release date for 'Sigma', the upcoming film directed by Jason Sanjay, son of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay, has been announced.
The film, starring Sundeep Kishan in the lead role, is scheduled to premiere in cinemas worldwide on July 31. Produced by Lyca Productions, the movie's release date was shared by Jason Sanjay in a collaborative Instagram post with the production house on Saturday.
The poster features Sundeep Kishan holding a shovel and looking directly at the camera. Accompanying the image, Jason Sanjay wrote, “A high-stakes heist begins. SIGMA storms into theatres on July 31st. Gear up for the ultimate quest.”
Thaman S composed the film's music. Posters suggest that ‘Sigma’ will be an action thriller centred on a heist.
With this project, Jason Sanjay is following in the footsteps of his father, Vijay, who is currently serving as Tamil Nadu’s Chief Minister. Vijay's most recent film as an actor was ‘The Greatest of All Time’, directed by Venkat Prabhu and released in 2024. He is anticipated to appear next in ‘Jana Nayagan’, which has been delayed and was originally planned for release during Pongal this year.
Vijay was sworn in as Chief Minister at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Chennai on May 10 after his party, TVK, secured a majority in the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections.
