One of his most notable contributions is the founding of Bug2Build, a rapidly growing community dedicated to empowering students with technical skills, cybersecurity knowledge, and exposure to emerging technologies. Through workshops, webinars, hackathons, awareness sessions, and collaborative initiatives, Bug2Build has positively impacted more than 10,000 students across India, helping them explore new technologies, develop practical skills, and build stronger career pathways.
Kastab’s dedication and expertise have earned him recognition beyond the classroom. He is an India Book of Records achiever for his accomplishments in cybersecurity and has been acknowledged by multiple organizations for his contributions to digital security. Over the years, he has responsibly reported security vulnerabilities and contributed to improving the security posture of various organizations, including reputed educational institutions and private organizations. His efforts have also earned him multiple Hall of Fame recognitions from organizations that value responsible disclosure and cybersecurity research.
Beyond technical achievements, Kastab is passionate about sharing knowledge and inspiring the next generation of innovators. As a public speaker, he has delivered cybersecurity and technology awareness sessions at institutions including LPCPS Lucknow, CGC Landran, CGC University, various government schools across Punjab, and several educational events and workshops. His sessions focus on cybersecurity awareness, career guidance, ethical hacking, digital safety, and emerging technologies.
His commitment to nurturing young talent extends further through his role as a hackathon mentor, where he guides aspiring innovators, developers, and cybersecurity enthusiasts in transforming their ideas into impactful solutions.
While interacting with students and internet users through his community initiatives, Kastab noticed a growing concern. Every day, individuals fall victim to phishing attacks, online fraud, social media account compromises, financial scams, and other forms of cybercrime. Many victims are often left confused about the immediate steps they should take or the resources available to them.
Motivated by this challenge, he recently launched an independent initiative aimed at helping cybercrime victims completely free of cost. The initiative focuses on providing guidance, awareness, and support to individuals who have experienced cyber incidents. From helping victims understand reporting procedures to advising them on preserving digital evidence and taking timely action, the objective is to ensure that affected individuals receive the right guidance when they need it most.
Kastab believes that cybersecurity is ultimately about protecting people. Behind every cybercrime case is a real individual dealing with uncertainty, stress, and potential loss. Through education, awareness, and community support, he hopes to contribute toward building a safer and more informed digital society.
