Hello,
After AI, robotics seems to be the 'next big thing' in the world of technology. A Chinese robot maker is reportedly offering a whopping $18 million a year for its new chief scientist.
The development is unique in the sense that few companies in China lure global candidates with high pay packages unlike their peers in other countries.
Once a part of labs or industrial applications, robots designed for homes are getting efficient at house chores.

Meanwhile, as Elon Musk's SpaceX prepares for its massive $75 billion IPO, concerns are mounting that others looking to list in 2026 may find it harder to get deals due to its blockbuster debut.
Elsewhere, Apple was supposed to launch its foldable phone in 2026 but that seems unlikely to happen now as the company has reportedly run into engineering problems. Per a report in Nikkei Asia, Apple aimed to produce 7 million to 8 million of the foldable iPhones.
This is the second Apple product to face delays. A Bloomberg report said that the company's much-awaited $3000 iPad could be delayed until 2029 or later.

A platform for 'social coding'
Two brothers from Bengaluru are working on an idea that could potentially disrupt the prominent developer platform GitHub.
Akshay and Anirudh Oppiliappan started Tangled about a year ago to ensure that the way developers collaborate on code keeps pace with the growing role of generative AI-based autonomous agents in the process.
Key takeaways
- "Tangled is our take on the next generation of what social coding or developer collaboration looks like," CEO Anirudh said in a conversation with Shradha Sharma, founder and CEO of YourStory.
- Their venture has already signed up over 8,000 users and nearly 6,000 repositories, entirely organically.
- At the heart of Tangled's approach is a rethinking of the code collaboration system popularised by GitHub, which was founded in 2008 and acquired by Microsoft 10 years later.

Edtech
Edtech firm LEAD Group has introduced Ms. Curie, an artificial intelligence-powered tutor designed to act as a relatable companion for students. The first programme launched on this platform is Fluento, an AI-led spoken English solution that claims to move beyond traditional text-based learning to foster conversational confidence.
Advanced learning:
- This evolution follows the company's 2024 launch of TECHBOOKS, which are physical textbooks integrated with digital features such as augmented reality to provide a tailored learning experience.
- The broader edtech industry in India is also pivoting towards these individualised tools. Companies such as PhysicsWallah have introduced AI Guru for doubt solving, while ALLEN has launched Allie as a 24x7 study buddy.
- The Fluento programme is specifically designed for the Indian ecosystem, where English fluency is often tied to career prospects and salary potential.
