Ironman 70.3 Goa Expo inaugurated by Collector of North Goa
Goa Khabar: With less than 48 hours for the start-time at India's first-ever IRONMAN 70.3 Goa, the excitement in witnessing sporting excellence is palpable among the participants, organisers and the people of Goa.
On Sunday, 20th October 2019, over 1000 participants from across 27 countries will put their endurance at test when they set off on the IRONMAN 70.3 Goa course which includes 1.9km swim from the Miramar beach, 90km cycling and 21 kms of running covering some of Goa's most iconic locations.
Ahead of the race-day, customary to all IRONMAN events across the world, the event Expo where 15 stalls with essential sports goods was inaugurated by Collector of North Goa R Menaka, IAS on Friday morning.
The two-day Expo which is open for general public has been set up at the Panaji Convention Centre where some of the world's leading sports brands have put up attractive stalls creating an enthusiastic ambience for shoppers and on-lookers.
There will also be athletes briefing held at the Expo where the Race Director Deepak Raj, also the co-founder of Yoska, who will engage with the participants giving out vital information about the course, the rules and regulations of the event and also give them hydration and nutrition tips ahead of the race. "The Expo is customary two-day event that is held across all IRONMAN events around the world. This is an opportunity for world-class sports merchandise and sports goods brands to display their products. We are expecting a footfall of about 5000 people over the span of two days where we will also be conducting athletes briefing which is important for the participants so they do not lose out on important information about the race, the route, medical check points etc," explained Rudra Prasad Nanjundappa, Co-founder of Yoska who are organising the IRONMAN 70.3 Goa.
