SATYA PAL MALIK TO TAKE OATHAS GOVERNOR OF GOA ON NOV 3
Goa Khabar:The Chief Justice of Bombay High Court Justice Pradeep Nandrajog will administer the oath of office to Governor Designate Shri Satya Pal Malik on Sunday, November 3, 2019 at 4.30 pm at Raj Bhavan.

Shri Malik entered politics in the year 1965 inspired by the socialist ideology of Shri Lohia. He served as the president of Meerut College Students Union in 1966. He was elected as the President of Students Union of the then Meerut University, now Choudhary Charan Singh University. And also elected as a Member of Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly contesting on the ticket of Bhartiya Kranti Dal from Baghpat Assembly Constituency and appointed as the Party's Chief Whip in the Assembly in the year 1974.
He was appointed as the All-India General Secretary of the newly formed 'Lok Dal' in 1975. Later he was nominated as the Member of Rajya Sabha from 'Lok Dal' in 1980. He Became a Member of the Indian National Congress (INC) in 1984.
In 1986, as a Member of Indian National Congress, elected to Rajya Sabha and was appointed as the General Secretary of the Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee. Later agitated over 'The Bofors Scam' resigned from the Rajya Sabha as well as the membership of INC and formed a political party, 'Jan Morcha', which was later merged with the Janata Dal in 1988. Later, along with Mr. Vishwanath Pratap Singh, addressed many public meetings all over the country and joined the Jan-Jagran.
He was appointed as the Secretary and Spokesperson of 'Janata Dal'from 1987 to 1991. In the year 1989, he was elected for Lok Sabha from Aligarh, contesting from Janata Dal Ticket and State Minister for Tourism and Parliamentary Affairs in late V.P. Singh's Government.
In 2004 he joined Bharatiya Janata Party and contested from Baghpat Lok Sabha seat. In 2005 he was appointed as the Vice President of Uttar Pradesh Bharatiya Janta Party.
In 2009, he was appointed as All-India Incharge, Kissan Morcha of Bharatiya Janata Party. Later he was appointed as the National Vice President of Bharatiya Janata Party in 2012.
Imparted important services as the Chairman of Sub-Committee of the 'Manifesto' on agricultural issues before the Lok Sabha election in 2014. In the same year he was re-appointed as the National Vice President of the Bharatiya Janata Party. He addressed farmer rallies organized by the Bharatiya Janata Party and its subsidiary organizations.
In 2017, he was appointed as the Governor of Bihar with additional charge of Governor of Orissa. He took oath as the Governor of Jammu and Kashmir on 23 August, 2018.
The Governor designate also held important posts such as Member of the Legislative Assembly of Uttar Pradesh (Baghpat), Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha), Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha, Aligarh), Member of - Panel of Chairman (Rajya Sabha) and Panel of Speakers (Lok Sabha) besides served as Union Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs and Tourism from April 21, 1990 to November 10, 1990.
Similarly he served as a member on Parliamentary Committees which included Panel of Chairman (Rajya Sabha), Panel of Speakers (Lok Sabha), General Purposes Committee, Business Advisory Committee, Chairman, Joint Sub Committee on telecasting of proceedings of both houses of Parliament, Chairman, Committee on Papers laid on the tables and Parliamentary Consultative Committee and Member Consultative Committee constituted under Punjab State Legislature (Delegation of Powers Act 1987).
Shri Satya Pal Malik also led many Agitations and Movements and also prominently participated. These include 'Student Agitation ' of Western Uttar Pradesh, 'Angrezi Hatao Aandholan and J P Aandholan. He donated one year Salary in the aid of Aligarh riot victims in the year 1990. He played lead role in creation of Tehsil Badot. He had visited the affected areas of Muzaffarnagar riots and helped affected families in the year 2013.
Shri Satya Pal Malik has also visited many foreign countries which included Bulgaria, USSR, U.A.E., Singapore, England, Denmark, Sweden, Qatar, South Africa and Turkey.
The Governor designate holds degree in B.Sc and LLB from Meerut University. He possesses Diploma in Parliamentary Affairs from Institute of Constitutional and Parliamentary Studies, run by Parliament of India. His other activities included he worked as the General Secretary of Samajwadi Yuvjan Sabha, appointed court member of Aligarh Muslim University, participated in the World Youth Festival, Sofia (Bulgaria), Hundreds of his articles on agricultural issues published in the journals, he also some time remained associated with "Dinmaan" Magazine and he worked for the protection centres of Child Labourers in Gurgaon while leading the Samarpan Trust.
Shri Satya Pal Malik is born on July 24, 1946 and has interest in studying historical and archaeological subjects, music, photography and has special interest in poetry writing.
