Tamil Nadu: VK Sasikala once again petitioned for early release from jail
VK Sasikala, a close aide of late Tamil Nadu former CM Jayalalithaa, has once again filed for early release from jail. Sarsikala is serving a four-year sentence in Parappana Agrahara jail in a corruption case. It is expected that Sasikala may be released by January 27 after paying a fine of Rs 10 crore in the special court.
However, according to sources, he has applied for release even earlier. The jail authorities have sent their applications to senior officials. Sasikala surrendered on 15 February 2017 following an order from the Supreme Court. He has since been lodged in Parappan Agrahara Jail. Two of his relatives are also serving simple imprisonment of four in the corruption case.
