In a proactive step towards addressing the concerns of the trading community, Deputy Commissioner Poonamdeep Kaur convened a comprehensive meeting with members of the Punjab State Traders Commission here today.
The meeting witnessed detailed deliberations on a range of key issues affecting traders, including infrastructure, sanitation management, traffic congestion, parking constraints, and other operational challenges impacting day-to-day business activities.
While chairing the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner reiterated that the district administration is fully committed and responsive to the genuine concerns of traders. She emphasized that no inconvenience to the trading community will be tolerated and assured that all issues will be resolved on a priority basis through a time-bound and transparent mechanism.
She directed the concerned officials to ensure prompt redressal of complaints received from traders through coordinated efforts of respective departments. Stressing accountability, she made it clear that negligence or delay at any level will not be accepted. She further highlighted that government initiatives aimed at strengthening the business ecosystem are being effectively implemented at the grassroots level.
Members of the Traders Commission presented a detailed account of various challenges faced by traders across the district and sought immediate intervention in certain matters. The Deputy Commissioner assured that each issue raised during the meeting would be examined thoroughly and addressed with due seriousness.
On the occasion, Chairman of the Traders Commission, Arun Jindal, urged traders to maintain regular communication with the Commission to ensure that their grievances are effectively conveyed to the authorities. He affirmed that the Commission remains committed to safeguarding the interests and welfare of the trading community.
The meeting was attended by all Sub-Divisional Magistrates (SDMs) of the district, State Secretary of the Punjab State Traders Commission Sanjeev Gupta, District Chairman Arun Jindal, Chairman (Dhuri) Pushpinder Sharma, Chairman (Sangrur) Sukhjinder Mann, Chairman (Lehra) Prince Garg, Chairman (Sunam) Ram Kumar, and Chairman (Dirba) Ajay Bansal, among other officials and representatives.
