RBU hosts debate to raise awareness against drug abuse

Reinforcing its commitment to social responsibility and youth empowerment, Rayat Bahra University hosted a district-level debate competition on drug awareness at its campus.The event was organized by the University School of Social Sciences and Education in collaboration with the Government of Punjab and the Office of the Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development), Mohali.

Held under the theme "Drug Addiction: Say No to Drugs," the competition aimed to sensitise young minds about the dangers of substance abuse while promoting critical thinking and effective communication. Students actively participated, speaking both for and against the motion, and presented insightful arguments with confidence and analytical depth.

Addressing the gathering, Dr Inderpreet Kaur, Dean of the University School of Education and Social Sciences, highlighted that the university continues to bridge the gap between potential and opportunity through meaningful initiatives. She emphasized that such efforts contribute to building not just careers, but a more equitable society.

The event was conducted under the visionary leadership of Chancellor Gurvinder Singh Bahra. Distinguished guests, including Nirveer Singh, Ajaypal Singh, and social worker Dilawar Singh, inspired participants with their encouraging words.

Prizes were awarded to outstanding participants, making the event both impactful and memorable while promoting the message of a drug-free future. Senior Officer Gurmukh Rana along with other faculty members were also present
