Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer Aashika Jain on Wednesday informed that the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls has been completed 100 per cent in the district ahead of the stipulated timeline.
Providing further details, the Deputy Commissioner said that Booth Level Officers (BLOs) had successfully completed the digitisation of Enumeration Forms after distributing them to all 1268648 electors in the district.
Out of these, 1169930 (92.22%) Enumeration Forms were received after being filled manually, while 1487 (0.12%) were submitted online. She informed that during the Special Intensive Revision, 15,265 electors were found absent, 48,512 had permanently shifted their place of residence, 28,475 were found deceased, while data pertaining to 306 electors was uncollected.
She said that the lists of these categories had been shared by the Booth Level Officers (BLOs) with the Booth Level Agents (BLAs) appointed by recognised political parties. Jain further said that the draft electoral roll would be published on August 13, 2026.
Following which, all Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) in the district would receive claims and objections up to September 12, 2026. She said that all claims and objections would be disposed of by the EROs by October 8, 2026, following which the final electoral roll will be published on October 12, 2026.
The Deputy Commissioner commended the efforts of all BLOs, BLAs and residents of the district for ensuring the successful completion of the Special Intensive Revision well before the prescribed deadline.
