The NSS Department of Rayat Bahra University organised a walkathon on Sunday to mark World Health Day, in collaboration with Clear Medi Bahra Healthcare Hospital.
The event was aimed to spread awareness about the importance of health and fitness and to encourage a healthier lifestyle among the community.
RBU Director NSS, Prof. A.S. Chahal said that NSS volunteers enthusiastically participated in the walkathon, which covered a distance of 5 Kilometers. The rally served as an effective platform to highlight the significance of regular physical activity and overall well-being.
During the programme, medical professionals delivered an informative health awareness lecture, emphasizing the role of walking in maintaining physical fitness and preventing lifestyle-related diseases.Vivan Singh Gill, Cluster Head of Clear Medi Bahra Healthcare (North Zone), graced the occasion and flagged off the rally.
Upon completion, participants were awarded certificates, T-shirts, and a trophy in recognition of their active involvement. Refreshments were also provided to all attendees.The event was conducted under the supervision of Director NSS, Prof. A.S. Chahal. The walkathon concluded on a positive note, reinforcing the message of healthy and active living.
