The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Wednesday declared the Class 12 supplementary examination results, with 53.08% of students in the compartment category clearing the exam this year, a significant improvement over the 38.36% pass percentage recorded in 2025. Of the 1,64,231 students who appeared under the compartment category, more than half managed to secure the qualifying marks.
A total of 2,91,576 candidates registered for the Class 12 supplementary examination, while 2,75,287 students appeared for it. The examination catered to students who could not secure the qualifying marks in one of the five mandatory subjects, giving them an opportunity to clear the subject and qualify.
The supplementary examination also included 1,11,056 Class 12 students who appeared for improvement. These students had already passed the examination but wanted to improve their performance in one subject.
The CBSE also conducted the examination for Class 12 students with six subjects. These students had been declared passed by replacing a main subject with an additional subject but opted to reappear in the main subject in which they had not secured the qualifying marks.
