Panic broke out after a bomb threat was reported at a sports club near Sardar Patel Stadium in Navrangpura on Monday. Local police, fire brigade and the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS) rushed to the spot and conducted a thorough search, but nothing suspicious was found.
Zone-1 DCP Harshad Patel said that authorities received information about a possible bomb threat at the club. A note was found from one of the rooms, reserved for foreign nationals, claiming that a bomb had been placed there.
Teams from the B Division ACP office, the Fire Brigade, police, and BDDS carried out a detailed search of the premises. However, no suspicious object or explosive material was found during the inspection.
Police have now launched an investigation to identify and trace the person who wrote and left the note. Further inquiries are underway.
