(Baisakhi) Members of the city's Sikh community gathered at the Gurudwara Gobind Dham on Tuesday to mark Baisakhi, a day that marks the beginning of the harvest festival and the day Guru Gobind Singh announced the birth of the Khalsa order; (right) artists perform the traditional agricultural folk dance Jakoi Nritya during Rongali Bihu - the beginning of the Assamese New year - celebrations in Guwahati on Tuesday.
The day also saw Odias mark Maha Bishuba Sankranti, Tamilians mark Puthandu while Biharis celebrated Jur Sital.
