The Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB) has released its academic calendar for 2026-27, announcing that Class 10 and Class 12 board examinations will be held from February 25 to March 17, 2027.
The board has also confirmed that the Diwali vacation will begin on November 5, 2026 and continue for 21 days until November 25, while the summer break will span 35 days from May 3 to June 6, 2027, giving students clearly defined pauses within the academic schedule.
According to the calendar, the academic year will commence on June 8, 2026 and be divided into two terms. The first term will run until November 4, followed by the Diwali break, while the second term will resume on November 26 and continue until May 2, 2027. The next academic session, 2027-28, is scheduled to begin on June 7, 2027.
The board has outlined a structured examination schedule across classes. Supplementary exams for Classes 10 and 12 are tentatively planned between June 11 and June 22, 2026. For Classes 9 to 12, the first internal examinations will be conducted from October 22 to November 2, followed by preliminary or second examinations from January 18 to January 28, 2027.
In addition, school-level practical and theory assessments for board classes will be held from February 1 to February 3, with Class 12 science practicals scheduled between February 5 and February 13. Annual examinations for Classes 9 and 11 are set from April 5 to April 20, 2027.
The board said the entire syllabus will remain applicable for all major examinations, including the boards, underlining its focus on comprehensive learning. The calendar reflects an emphasis on structured preparation, adequate revision time and a balanced academic year for students across the state.
