Rakul Preet Singh on Friday responded after husband Jackky Bhagnani sparked debate by describing their marriage as a "situationship" during a recent interview.

The remark quickly gained attention online, but Singh said it had been lifted from a longer conversation and turned into a misleading headline.

Posting on Instagram Stories, Singh shared a screenshot of the viral coverage and said one sentence from an hour-long discussion had been isolated. "We had a great laugh today about how one line from an hour-long conversation can suddenly become the headline. Funny... until it's not," she wrote. "Context matters. Nuance matters. Conversation deserve better than being reduced to clickbait."

The actor added that platforms should take greater responsibility for the narratives they create.

The original comment was made during an interview with a YouTube channel when Bhagnani was asked about married life. Explaining his view of the relationship, he said: "Rakul and I are married, but we are like in a situationship, which is, of course, we are exclusive to each other, because that's why we are married."Agencies
