Almost Famous-fame Kate Hudson says she is thoroughly enjoying getting older and believes ageing only improves life.

The actor, who turned 47 on April 19, spoke about embracing age during an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon while promoting season two of Running Point.

Host Jimmy Fallon wished her a happy belated birthday, prompting Hudson to joke, "Thank you! I'm so old."

Fallon quickly dismissed the remark, but Hudson made clear she meant it positively.

"No, I love it," she said. "I really think I'm going to be a great old person... Because I like it, because it gets better, so you don't have to care as much."

Asked how she celebrated the occasion, Hudson said she opted for a lively but relaxed gathering rather than a wild party. "I had a crawfish boil," she said, drawing laughter from the audience, as she added, "And I had a beignet cake. I got my crawfish in because I have to do that every crawfish season."

She described the meal as one of her favourite traditions, with corn, sausage and potatoes served communally while music played. "It's the best," Hudson added.

Earlier this year, Hudson also spoke about letting herself relax physically while preparing for her role in Song Sung Blue, in which she plays Claire Cartwright-Sardina, also known as Thunder. "This film was fun - I didn't have to watch what I ate," she said in an earlier interview. "I put on 15 pounds, just to be nice and soft."

Hudson added that she stepped back from workouts and skincare routines during the process. "I just let myself be and enjoyed life," she said.

The actor is a mother of three and has often spoken openly about balancing family life, work, and wellness. Agencies
