Janhvi Kapoor plea: HC backs actor, questions 'fanpages'
The Delhi High Court has indicated it will order the removal of obscene and pornographic content involving Janhvi Kapoor, while questioning her plea for wider restrictions on fanpages. Kapoor approached the court seeking protection of her personality rights against deepfakes, AI-generated images, impersonation and unauthorised commercial use of her identity. Justice Anup Jairam Bhambhani said relief could cover content that is obscene, directly monetises Kapoor's personality rights or uses her name and likeness to sell goods or services. However, the court questioned whether criticism, satire and legitimate fan content could be restrained. "How can you shut down all fanclubs?" the judge remarked, asking Kapoor's counsel to categorise the disputed content before an appropriate order is passed.Agencies
