A total of 56,880 students across the country have qualified for admission after the results for JEE Advanced 2026, the entrance exam for admission to IITs and other premier technical institutes, were declared on Sunday.

Delhi's Shubham Kumar emerged as the national topper by scoring 330 out of 360 marks. Among girls, Delhi's Arohi Deshpande secured the top rank in her category with 280 marks and an All India Rank (AIR) of 77.

This year, 1,87,389 students registered for the examination, while 1,79,694 appeared for it. Of those who took the exam, 56,880 students cleared it. The examination was conducted on May 17 by IIT Roorkee.

From Gujarat, Aditya Thakur delivered the state's best performance by securing AIR 22. Sanvi Patidar was the highest-ranked female candidate from Gujarat with AIR 158.

Although no student from the state made it to the national top 10, Gujarat recorded a notable presence in the higher ranks.

According to available data, six students from Gujarat secured places in the top 500 ranks, while 13 students figured in the top 1,000. The state also had 38 students within the top 5,000 ranks and 49 students within the top 10,000 ranks.

Of the 1,79,694 candidates who appeared for the examination, 1,39,131 were male candidates, 40,562 were female, and one candidate belonged to the third-gender category. Among those who qualified, 46,773 were male students and 10,107 female students.

The examination carried a total of 360 marks, with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry carrying 120 marks each. Among the top performers, B Jayakrishna Srinivasan from the IIT Bombay zone scored 314 marks, while Kanishk Jain, also from the Mumbai zone, scored 313 marks.
