Ahmedabad: In a significant development for the education sector, the Gujarat state government has announced a bumper recruitment drive for 11,000 Vidya Sahayaks (Class-3) for Gujarati medium primary schools.
The advertisement, issued by the Gujarat State Primary Education Selection Committee, marks a historic opportunity for thousands of TET-1 qualified candidates who have been awaiting government teaching positions.
According to Advertisement No. 01/2026, the recruitment will fill teaching positions for Standards 1 to 5 across District and Nagar Education Committees. The online application process will commence on April 15, 2026, at 12:00 noon, and continue until April 24, 2026, until 3:00 PM. Candidates must submit their forms at designated acceptance centres by 5:00 PM on the same date.
Eligibility requires candidates to possess a D.El.Ed. degree and have successfully cleared the TET-1 examination. In a notable concession, candidates currently in their final year of D.El.Ed. who have already passed TET-1 are also eligible to apply. Such candidates will be permitted to upload their D.El.Ed. marks and mark sheets online after their results are declared.
The recruitment will follow transparent selection procedures based on merit, with district-wise and school-wise vacancy details to be published later on the official website. Four percent of the total posts are reserved for persons with disabilities as per government norms.
