The heat is set to tighten its grip across Gujarat over the next few days, with temperatures likely to rise further before a slight dip later.

The IMD has issued a yellow alert till April 29, stating dry weather will continue across the state for the next seven days.

In Ahmedabad, the sky is expected to remain mainly clear, with the maximum temperature hovering around 42°C. On Friday, the city recorded a high of 42.1°C, which is 1.9°C above normal, while the minimum stood at 27°C, also above normal. Humidity levels fluctuated sharply during the day, dropping from 61% in the morning to 17% by evening.

Parts of Saurashtra and Kutch are seeing above-normal heat, with Amreli recording 43.3°C and Rajkot 43.1°C. Other cities such as Gandhinagar (41.5°C) and Vadodara (41.6°C) also remained on the hotter side. The IMD has forecast a gradual rise of 2-3°C in maximum temperatures over the next three days. After that, a slight fall of 2-3°C is expected. During this period, inland areas may see temperatures between 41°C and 43°C, while coastal regions are likely to stay slightly lower, between 35°C and 40°C. Dry weather is likely to continue till May 1.

The IMD has also warned of hot and humid conditions in coastal parts of Gujarat and Saurashtra-Kutch over the next two days. According to IMD Director AK Das, the weather across the state will remain mainly dry till April 30. "Maximum temperatures may rise by 2-3°C over the next three days, followed by a similar drop later," he said.
