Actor Kubbra Sait has revealed how a suggestion from Salman Khan transformed her tiny role in Ready into one of the memorable moments of her early career.
Sharing a video on Instagram, Sait recalled auditioning for director Anees Bazmee's film in a short black dress and anxiously waiting for approval. She said she was initially cast as a maid with no dialogues, but Khan suggested adding a comic twist by making her character speak broken English.
"Salman Khan was like, 'Why don't you make her the maid who talks in broken language, like in broken English?'" Kubbra shared, adding that Bazmee immediately loved the idea.
The actor admitted many people questioned her decision to accept such a small role at the time. "Every person told me I was mad," she said.
However, Said believes Ready became a crucial stepping stone towards bigger opportunities, including her acclaimed performance as Kuku in Sacred Games.
"There are no small roles. There are only small actors," she added.Agencies
