Millie slams the constant scrutinyActor reflects on growing up under relentless criticism of her appearance

Enola Holmes star Millie Bobby Brown has reflected on the scrutiny she faced as a teenage actor, saying constant criticism of her appearance made growing up in the public eye especially difficult.

The Stranger Things star spoke about the pressures of child stardom during an appearance on Jay Shetty's On Purpose podcast, recalling how comments about her looks began while she was still a teenager.

"The things that didn't help me, my goodness. I would say public perception doesn't help. Growing up hearing the way people think about you constantly. I think I was 15 when people started saying I looked like a 60-year-old woman," Brown said.

The 22-year-old actor said she found herself criticised regardless of what she wore. "I would wear a big heel, and people would say, ' My goodness, who does she think she is? But then I would wear a suit and people would rip me apart for looking too old. I've realised, [the haters are] all just walking contradictions. None of you actually have an opinion. You're all kind of like robots," she said.

Brown has previously spoken out against online criticism, sharing a message on social media aimed at what she described as her "bullies".IANS
