A student team from Nirma University secured second place at ROBOFEST Gujarat 5.0, a national-level robotics competition organised by GUJCOST. The team-Makim Dharmik, Krishna Patel, Madhav Maheshwari and Namra Ritesh Shah from the Institute of Technology-competed in the Intelligent Ground Vehicle (IGV) category, developing a fully autonomous robot capable of navigation, obstacle detection, terrain traversal and real-time decision-making.
They won Rs 50,000 in the idea submission round and Rs 2 lakh in the proof-of-concept stage, before clinching second place and Rs 7.5 lakh at the finale held at Science City.
