Actor-creator Dan Levy has ruled out the possibility of a sequel to Schitt's Creek following the death of co-star Catherine O'Hara.

In a recent interview with Variety, Levy said that while the idea of revisiting the beloved series had crossed his mind earlier, it is no longer something he can pursue. He said a sequel "can't" happen now, adding that he had been "thinking about it" before O'Hara's passing.

Levy returned to the iconic Rose Apothecary set during the interview, marking his first visit since the show concluded in 2020. Reflecting on the moment, he said, "It's tough, it's tough being back. I didn't think that I'd have quite an emotional reaction. Just a lot of memories, a lot of memories with Catherine. It's what you have to hold on to... the memories of it all."

O'Hara, who played the eccentric Moira Rose, died on January 30 at her home in Los Angeles following a brief illness. She was 71. Her performance as the flamboyant matriarch became central to the show's appeal and earned her widespread acclaim, including an Emmy Award for outstanding lead actress in a comedy series in 2020.

Co-created by Levy and his father Eugene Levy, the series premiered in 2015 and ran for six seasons before ending in 2020. It followed the wealthy Rose family, who lose their fortune and are forced to rebuild their lives in a small town they once bought as a joke.

The show went on to become a global success, sweeping major categories at the Emmy Awards in its final season. Its ensemble cast also included Annie Murphy.

Beyond the sitcom, O'Hara had a celebrated career spanning decades, with notable roles in films such as Home Alone, Beetlejuice, and Best in Show, as well as television appearances in The Last of Us.Agencies
