The Public Relations Society of India (PRSI) launched the country's first National Fact Verification Committee during a conference on Fact-Checking in the Age of AI: Combating Misinformation in a Digital-First World, organised by the PRSI Ahmedabad Chapter in association with Anant National University and supported by the IIMCAA Gujarat Chapter.
The committee will promote responsible communication, fact-checking, media literacy, and public awareness to counter AI-driven misinformation. The conference brought together policymakers, media professionals, communication experts, researchers, and students to discuss emerging challenges such as deepfakes and voice clones.
