The state transport department has announced a hike in the fees for the Pollution Under Control (PUC) certificate. As per the notification issued on December 12, the revised rates are expected to come into effect within the next week.
According to the new structure, the fee for two-wheelers, including mopeds, has been fixed at Rs 50, while three-wheelers running on CNG, LPG, petrol or diesel will be charged Rs 60. Four-wheelers will now pay Rs 130, and light motor vehicles using diesel, along with all medium and heavy motor vehicles running on diesel or CNG, will be charged Rs 150.
Officials at the Subhash Bridge RTO said they have not yet received formal instructions regarding the date of implementation.AM
