Ahmedabad Mirror 3 days ago

Tension continues to grip Rajivnagar, opposite Satellite police station, following the public murder of local resident Natu Parmar. In the aftermath, enraged relatives and supporters of the deceased allegedly went on a rampage, vandalising and setting fire to properties in the area.

Police have registered two separate complaints against unidentified persons and launched investigations.

One victim, Radha Chauhan of Banaskantha, who resides in Rajivnagar, said mobs repeatedly gathered near the home of prime accused Kanu. Fearing for her safety, she had locked her house and moved out temporarily.

On Monday, she was informed that nearly 15 people had allegedly set her house ablaze. When she returned, she found the lock broken and her belongings destroyed in the fire.

Investigations revealed several other houses in Rajivnagar 2 were also targeted. Based on Chauhan's complaint, Satellite police registered an FIR against unknown persons.

In another incident, auto rickshaw driver Premchand Parmar reported his vehicle was vandalised and partially burnt amid the chaos. He had left the area after Natu's murder on May 2, but returned to find the front glass smashed and seats damaged. Police have opened a separate probe into the attack.
