A woman and a young man were injured after a Swift car crashed into an ice-cream truck that had stopped on the ISKCON bridge on SG Highway after its tyre burst on Wednesday.
According to the information available, the ice-cream truck was travelling from Karnavati Club towards Rajpath Club when one of its tyres burst, forcing the driver to stop the vehicle on the bridge. A Swift car coming from behind then crashed into the truck.
The impact injured the woman and the young man travelling in the car. Both were rushed to Civil Hospital in a 108 ambulance for treatment.
After receiving information about the accident, a police team reached the spot and started an investigation. The damaged car and the ice-cream truck were later moved under the bridge with the help of a crane.
The accident led to traffic congestion on the bridge, particularly on the stretch between Karnavati Club and Rajpath Club. Police personnel managed traffic while the vehicles were being removed to prevent further accidents.
