A one-year-nine-month-old boy was allegedly run over by an Uber car in Gandhinagar. The toddler, Arhaan Ajmeri, succumbed to his injuries shortly thereafter.
According to the FIR registered at Sector-7 police station, Arhaan's mother Mehjabeen had returned from her parental home in Juhapura with her two children in an Uber taxi. After reaching their residence at around 4.45 pm, she stepped out with Arhaan and her daughter. While she was unloading luggage, the driver allegedly moved the car rashly, striking Arhaan. Despite the family's attempts to stop him, he fled. A neighbour rushed the child to Gandhinagar Civil Hospital, where doctors declared him dead at 5.10 pm. Police said they have the registration details of the vehicle and are tracking the driver's location.
