Vadodara: The Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) has unveiled three major development projects at the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference, aimed at improving the city's infrastructure, tourism, and public spaces.
The proposed projects include a unique crocodile-shaped pedestrian bridge, the Ajwa Wildlife Safari Park, and the Sevasi Linear Canalfront Park.
1. Crocodile-Shaped Pedestrian Bridge
The VMC has proposed a new crocodile-shaped pedestrian bridge over the Vishwamitri River near Sayaji Baug.
The 57-metre-long bridge will replace the old pedestrian bridge inside Kamati Baug.
Inspired by Vadodara's identity as the "Crocodile City," the bridge will improve walking and cycling connectivity within the 113-acre park.
2. Ajwa Wildlife Safari Park
VMC has also announced the Ajwa Wildlife Safari Park, which will be developed as a major eco-tourism destination in eastern Vadodara.
The project is expected to create around 3,375 to 4,500 jobs, including nearly 1,200 direct jobs.
It is also expected to generate annual revenue of Rs. 85-100 crore and give a major boost to the local economy.
3. Sevasi Linear Canalfront Park
The Sevasi Linear Canalfront Park project will transform a 1.2-km canalfront into a modern green public space.
Spread over more than 15,000 square metres, the park will include cycling tracks, walking areas, themed gardens, public art, fitness zones, recreation spaces, and solar lighting.
The project aims to provide a better recreational space for residents.
