Ahmedabad Mirror 4 years ago

A city-based family court allowed a divorce petition filed by a man on the grounds that his wife insisted and that they live separately from the joint family.
As per the case details, Subhash married Saloni in 2006 and they live with other family members in a house in Drive-in area. Subhash works with a private firm while Saloni runs tuition classes. The couple had frequent quarrels over leaving the joint family and living separately. Subhash eventually filed a petition to separate from Saloni in 2017 when she left the house on her own will.
In a petition filed by advocate Rajeev Rajpurohit, the man claimed that under instigation of her mother, his wife allegedly started demanding that other family members be driven out of the house.

She would allegedly demand expensive things and misbehave with him and his parents. The plea claimed that when she was expecting a child, she went to her maternal home, and he came to know about the birth of their son from relatives and not from Saloni.
In a reply filed by Saloni, she denied the allegations and stated that her in-laws had demanded dowry of Rs20 lakh and a house. She claimed was beaten and driven out by Subhash in the middle of the night in 2017.
She alleged that her husband used to receive obscene messages from girls. When she asked him about it, she was beaten brutally. She then registered a complaint with the police and left home.
After hearing both the sides and the relatives, the court granted the divorce plea. The court said the couple don't want to live with each other and their marriage had broken down irretrievably. There is no scope of conciliation between them. and to continue such a marriage bond between the spouses would amount to cruelty.
