Delhi :  Marking as one of the historical events in the history of India, Justice Markandey Katju (Chairman, IRA) officially declared the first IRA senate on 21st February 2021 (Sunday) through a zoom meeting.

The declared Senate comprises of more than 20 Chapters consisting of provincial and university chapters in India, and two overseas chapters.

The Senate members comes from various walks of life – students from prestigious universities (like Delhi university, Symbiosis university, BGSB University, JNU), professionals, retired personnel alike. One of the major forces behind this senate formation and declaration is Mr. Irfan Pullani (General Secretary, IRA). The Senate members shall conduct the management of the organisation on respective regional levels, as per the Charter of IRA. We have also been able to mobilize a forum called ‘Border Peace Forum’, with the purpose of undertaking non – profit activities involving research in policy and advocacy with a focus on peaceful resolution of conflicts and crisis across the borders. 

The session was attended by Mr. Indravansh Chaddha (Vice Chairman, Chinar Foundation) and more than 50 participants from all the IRA Chapters. Mr. Chaddha shared his insightful views about IRA and extended his best wishes to the firstly and newly appointed IRA Senate.
