'Chalo Kashmir' Gains Star Power as Atul Kulkarni Visits Pahalgam

Kashmir, Apr 28: Bollywood actor Atul Kulkarni, who is known for his role in Rang De Basanti, is currently in Kashmir after the Pahalgam terror attack took 26 lives.

The actor took to his social media to share glimpses of his Kashmir trip.Earlier that week, terrorists had killed at least 26 people there, which caused many tourists to cancel their plans to visit Jammu and Kashmir for their holidays.

After a recent terror attack in Pahalgam, where at least 26 people were killed, tourism in Jammu and Kashmir has dropped sharply. Many tourists are now avoiding the region out of fear.

Actor Atul Kulkarni has traveled to Kashmir to encourage people not to be scared. He arrived in Srinagar early Sunday and went straight to Pahalgam, the place where the attack happened. He believes that if people cancel their trips, it means the terrorists have achieved their goal-scaring people away from Kashmir.

Kulkarni shared photos from his nearly empty flight from Mumbai to Srinagar and urged others to travel to Kashmir again, using hashtags like #ChaloKashmir and #DefeatTerror.

He plans to spend two days in Kashmir, meeting local people and urging more citizens to visit. He says that tourism not only helps the local economy but also helps people from different parts of India understand each other better.

While in Pahalgam, he met tourists from Tamil Nadu who were eager to learn about Kashmiri culture. He says this kind of connection between people promotes unity and kindness.

After the attack on April 22, many hotels and houseboats saw 80% of bookings canceled. Thousands of tourists rushed back home on special flights and trains.
