Kia Carnival Launch on 5th Feb, To Rival With Innova Crysta Top Variants

The automobile segment hopes to cash in on the new-found love of Indians for multipurpose vehicles (MPV). One can expect a flurry of launches of MPVs at the Auto Expo in February. Kia Carnival is one of them.

Buoyed by the successful launch and performance of the Kia Seltos, Kia Motors is gearing up towards launching a luxury MPV for the Elite Class. The new MPV named Kia Carnival will launch on February 05, 2020. Other than the pricing, Kia has revealed all the specifications. The exciting details show that this MPV can provide high-quality competition to the high-end variants of the Toyota Innova Crysta.

The BS6 norms take effect from April 01, 2020. Kia Carnival will be launching a BS6-compliant 2.2L 4-cylinder turbo-diesel engine capable of delivering a massive 200ps of power and a peak torque of 440Nm. This engine will pair with an 8-speed automatic transmission unit that Kia has named 'Sportsmatic.' One can expect a superlative performance from this engine.

This MPV takes care of virtually all seating configurations, as Kia Carnival will be available as a 7, 8, and 9-seater vehicle. The 9-seater configuration is the most comfortable with six Captain seats with the final row comprising of three sinking seats. The 7-seater could prove to be the most popular of all with a configuration of four Captain seats and the three regular sinking seats bringing up the rear. The vehicle will also come with an 8-seater combination that will have an additional seat in the second row. The 7-seater configuration will have a variant, as well that provides VIP seating arrangements for the second-row occupants.

Kia plans to provide the highest quality of luxury and convenience by designing the interiors of the Carnival exquisitely. When it comes to delivering luxury, nothing can beat an airport lounge. Kia aims to offer something close to that by providing a 10.1-inch dual touchscreen entertainment system for the rear seat passengers. This system connects to an 8-speaker Harman Kardon speaker system, the best in the acoustics industry. The power-sliding rear doors provide an out-of-this-world experience to its passengers. Kia has a deep concern for the health of its customers. An in-car Smart Air Purifier ensures the supply of pure and healthy air to breathe.

Kia has the safety of its occupants foremost in its minds, as the vehicle comes equipped with features like front-dual airbags, rear parking sensors, and ISOFIX seat mounts. Other features in its Premium trim include the Push-button Start-Stop functionality and the Smart Key operation. The Premium Trim will be available in the 7-seater and 8-seater combinations.

The Prestige Trim will provide a higher level of safety and comfort to its occupants. These features include ESC with Hill Assist, Cornering Brake Control, Roll Over Mitigation, and front parking sensors, as well. This variant gets additional airbags at the sides and curtains to make it safe for the rear seat passengers. These options will be available in the 7-seater and the 9-seater vehicles. Other exciting additions include LED projector lamps, laptop and USB charger, and a dual-pane electric sunroof.

The top-end variant, the Limousine Trim will be available in the 7-seater combination. It will have all the features present in the Premium and Prestige trims. Besides, one can expect advanced features like an electronic parking brake, a 10-way power driver's seat, ventilation for the driver's seat, and Kia's UVO Connected car pack.

The Kia Carnival pricing is not yet out. One can expect the announcement of the prices at the time of its launch on February 05, 2020, at the Auto Expo.
