Tata Nexon EV Will Hit The Indian Roads on January 28, 2020
Tata Motors has begun the New Year in the right earnest with a positive frame of mind. The Tata Nexon EV is launching on January 28, 2020. It will be the second launch vehicle for Tata Motors after the Tata Altroz that will hit the roads on January 22, 2020. Tata has another car, a facelifted version of the regular Tata Nexon SUV ready for a launch in the following weeks.
Tata Motors has not announced the Tata Nexon EV price. One can expect the revealing of the price on the day of its launch.
The Auto Expo 2020 is also around the corner. The focus of the Expo is towards ensuring the sustainment of the environment. The Tata Nexon EV is the right step in this direction. This electric vehicle will come in three variants, the Nexon EV-XM, Nexon EV-XZ+, and the Nexon EV-XZ+ LUX.
One expects the base variant to be available with excellent features like push-button start and keyless entry along with two drive modes, Drive and Sport. Another notable feature is the automatic climate control functionality.
The XZ+ variant will be available in dual-tone colour options and 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels. The Nexon EV-XZ+ interior includes a 7-inch touchscreen info system, a leather-strapped steering wheel, and safety features like a rear-view camera.
The top-spec variant, Nexon EV-XZ+ LUX will have the most luxurious features of all. Besides including all the features mentioned in the above two options, this variant will come equipped with a sunroof, automatic wipers and headlights, and comfortable leatherette seats.
Utilizing the Tata's Ziptron EV technology, the Tata Nexon EV will draw its power from a potent 30.2kWh Li-ion battery. The engine is capable of producing a peak power of 129hp and torque of 245Nm. There is a massive expectation that the Tata Nexon will deliver an excellent mileage performance of 300km on a single charge. The vehicle is also expected to display an acceleration of 0 to 100kmph within 9.9 seconds.
As is the trend today, the Tata Nexon EV will also feature fast-charging capabilities. The fast DC charger can recharge the Li-ion battery to up to 80% within an hour. The vehicle will also come equipped with a standard 15A AC charger that could take around eight to nine hours for charging the car fully.
The Tata Nexon EV also boasts of an innovative energy regeneration function that can recharge the batteries when the vehicle is on the cruise mode. This vehicle's battery and the motor will be available with an 8-year or 1,60,000 km warranty.
Tata Motors will be unveiling 8 more vehicles at the Auto Expo 2020. They include the Altroz EV, Gravitas, and the production-spec H2X SUV, etc.
As AutoPortal has reported earlier, Tata Motors is preparing to introduce the facelift versions of the Tata Tigor, Tata Tiago and Tata Nexon. One can also expect the introduction of the BS6-compliant Tata Harrier automatic fully equipped with a sunroof later this year. The year 2020 is proving to be a busy one for Tata Motors.
