Retail investors continue to monitor the thousands of stock trades made by members of Congress. One member has made only two stock trades since being sworn into office in early 2025. The trade may have come at a loss.
Senator Sells eToro Stock
Sen. Bernie Moreno (R-Ohio) recently disclosed selling $100,000 to $250,000 in eToro Group Ltd. (NASDAQ:ETOR) stock, as reported by the Benzinga Government Trades page.
The trade is rather unique as Moreno has only disclosed two stock transactions since being sworn into the Senate in January 2025. In March 2025, Moreno sold $15,000 to $50,000 in shares of Mobile Infrastructure Corp (NASDAQ:BEEP).
While it is unknown how much Moreno acquired the eToro shares for, as there is no history of him buying, a look at his assets on Quiver Quantitative may provide clues.
Moreno disclosed owning $500,000 to $1,000,0000 in Corporate Securities of eToro, listed as non-public stock, at the end of 2024. eToro went public in May 2025.
Shares of eToro are down 39.5% over the last year. The senator likely lost money on the trade based on the original asset amount and the one-year history of the stock. The latest disclosure listed the transaction as "full," meaning it was the total amount of eToro shares held by the senator.
Other trades disclosed by Moreno include corporate securities and Bitcoin (CRYPTO: BTC), which the senator sold in October 2025.
Moreno serves on the Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs Committee and the Digital Assets Subcommittee, which could be items to monitor for the recent eToro transaction.
eToro is a brokerage and social trading platform for users to buy and sell stocks, ETFs, options and cryptocurrencies.
