Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani on Monday said the conglomerate is creating the physical foundation for India's clean energy and digital future through major investments in renewable energy and data centres.
Addressing the 'CII Annual Business Summit 2026', Gautam Adani said the group's renewable energy project at Khavda in Gujarat has already commissioned 35 per cent of what will become the world's largest single-site renewable energy plant.
"At Khavda in Gujarat, the Adani Group has already commissioned 35 per cent of what will become the world's largest single-site renewable energy plant, a 30-gigawatt project that will fundamentally alter India's energy geography," he said.
The Adani Group Chairman added that the group's total commitment towards energy transition stands at 100 billion dollars, making it among the world's largest clean energy investors.
Gautam Adani also highlighted the group's expansion in the data centre sector. He described it as the second key foundation for India's future growth.
"Across India, we are constructing large-scale integrated data centre campuses. We, in partnership with Google, are building in Visakhapatnam, the country's largest gigawatt-scale campus. This is a multi-billion-dollar commitment to sovereign compute on Indian soil," he said.
The Adani Group Chairman added that Microsoft is a strong partner in the company's data centre mission. He also said firms such as Flipkart and Uber are anchoring their data requirements with the Adani Group.
Referring to the recent AI Summit, Gautam Adani said the group announced another 100-billion-dollar commitment to the data centre business. He stressed that India must build power and own its digital infrastructure domestically.
The billionaire industrialist further said the intelligence age would require a large, skilled workforce. He added that technicians, engineers, grid managers and operators would play a key role in supporting the digital ecosystem.
Through the Adani Foundation, the group has committed Rs 60,000 crore towards education, healthcare, skilling and community development. The group has also increased its focus on AI-integrated skilling initiatives.
