The makers of DADA: The Sourav Ganguly Story released the film's first poster on Wednesday to coincide with former India captain Sourav Ganguly's 54th birthday.
They also announced that the much-awaited biopic will arrive in cinemas on May 14 next year.
Rajkummar Rao shared the first look on social media and extended birthday wishes to the cricket legend. He captioned the post, "Happy Birthday our dearest Dada. @souravganguly #Dada #DadaTheSouravGangulyStory."
The poster captures Rajkummar Rao recreating Ganguly's famous shirt-waving celebration from the balcony of Lord's Cricket Ground.
The moment followed India's memorable victory in the 2002 NatWest Trophy final and remains one of the most iconic images in Indian cricket.
The artwork also features the Indian tricolour in the background. The title DADA appears prominently alongside the subtitle The Sourav Ganguly Story, while the tagline reads, 'He Didn't Just Play The Game, He Changed It'.
Ganguly captained India to a thrilling win over England in the 2002 NatWest Trophy final after his team successfully chased 325 runs.
Speaking after the match, Ganguly admitted that he had not expected his team to pull off the remarkable run chase.
Director Vikramaditya Motwane has helmed DADA: The Sourav Ganguly Story, while Luv Ranjan and Ankur Garg have produced the film under the Luv Films banner.
Known as the 'Maharaja of Indian Cricket', Ganguly reshaped Indian cricket during his tenure as captain. He led India to the 2002 ICC Champions Trophy title, the 2003 ICC Cricket World Cup final, the 2000 ICC Champions Trophy final and the 2004 Asia Cup final.
He retired from international cricket in 2008, ended his domestic career in 2012, and received the Padma Shri in 2004 for his contribution to Indian cricket.
