Four-Lane Road To Link Kalki Dham With Ganga Expressway; Boosting Religious Tourism

Four-Lane Road To Link Kalki Dham With Ganga Expressway; Boosting Religious Tourism

Bharat Express 1 week ago

Kalki Dham in Uttar Pradesh's Sambhal district is set to gain a major infrastructure boost as authorities move forward with plans to connect the revered religious site directly to the Ganga Expressway through a new four-lane road.

The project aims to improve accessibility for pilgrims and tourists while strengthening religious tourism in the region.

The Public Works Department (PWD) has already prepared the Detailed Project Report (DPR), while the Revenue Department has begun land surveys for the proposed route.

According to officials, the new road will span approximately 39.5 kilometres, starting from the Khirni Interchange on the Ganga Expressway and passing through Vansh Gopal Dham before reaching Kalki Dham.

The project will make travel to Kalki Dham faster and easier. At present, devotees navigate narrow roads that often make the journey difficult.

The new four-lane road will provide safer and smoother access, particularly during peak pilgrimage seasons.

Officials expect the project to boost local trade, attract investment and create jobs, while supporting hospitality and other tourism-related sectors.

District Magistrate Ankit Khandelwal said land surveys are underway and that the road will improve connectivity and drive regional development.

The direct link to the Ganga Expressway will likely attract more pilgrims and strengthen Kalki Dham's position as a major religious destination.

The project reflects the Uttar Pradesh government's continued focus on improving connectivity to key religious centres.

Under Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's leadership, the state has undertaken several infrastructure projects aimed at promoting religious tourism and regional development.

Once completed, the four-lane road will transform access to Kalki Dham, making the pilgrimage more convenient while opening new opportunities for economic growth and prosperity across the region.
