Delhi Capitals defeated Rajasthan Royals by seven wickets in Match 43 of IPL 2026 at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium on Friday.
The victory lifted Delhi Capitals to sixth place with four wins from nine matches, while Rajasthan Royals remained fourth despite suffering their fourth defeat in ten games.
After opting to bat first, the Rajasthan Royals compiled a strong total of 225/6. However, their innings began poorly as Yashasvi Jaiswal and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi fell early, leaving the side struggling at 12/2.
Captain Riyan Parag rebuilt the innings alongside Dhruv Jurel, with the pair adding 102 runs for the second wicket. Jurel scored 42 before departing, while Parag continued to anchor the innings.
Parag then shared a valuable partnership with Ravindra Jadeja, contributing significantly to the total. He narrowly missed a century, scoring 90 off 50 balls, while Jadeja added 20 runs.
Donovan Ferreira provided late fireworks with an unbeaten 47 off just 14 balls, supported by Shivam Dube. Their quick partnership pushed Rajasthan to a formidable total.
For the Delhi Capitals, Mitchell Starc led the bowling effort with three wickets, while Kyle Jamieson, Axar Patel, and T Natarajan took one wicket each.
In response, Pathum Nissanka and KL Rahul gave Delhi Capitals a strong foundation with a 110-run opening partnership.
Nissanka scored a fluent 62 off 33 balls before getting out, while Rahul carried the innings forward with a composed 75 off 40 deliveries.
Rahul then combined with Nitish Rana to add 61 runs for the second wicket. Rana contributed 33 runs before departing.
Later, Ashutosh Sharma and Tristan Stubbs guided the team home with an unbeaten 49-run stand, ensuring a comfortable win with overs to spare.
Delhi Capitals executed a clinical chase, powered by strong top-order contributions and a steady finish. Rajasthan Royals, despite posting a big total, could not contain the opposition's batting depth.
For Rajasthan, Jofra Archer, Tushar Deshpande, and Jadeja picked up one wicket each.
