Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) posted a competitive total of 181 for four against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the 15th match of IPL 2026 at Eden Gardens.
The innings was anchored by impressive knocks from Ajinkya Rahane and Angkrish Raghuvanshi.
After winning the toss, LSG captain Rishabh Pant opted to field first, inviting KKR to bat. The hosts lost an early wicket as Finn Allen scored 9 runs off 8 balls before getting out, leaving KKR at 15 for 1.
Rahane and Raghuvanshi then steadied the innings with a crucial partnership. The pair added 84 runs for the second wicket in 52 balls, demonstrating composure and controlled aggression.
Rahane narrowly missed out on a half-century, scoring 41 runs off 24 balls at a strike rate of 170, including four boundaries and two sixes. Raghuvanshi scored 45 runs off 33 balls before losing his wicket after a well-paced innings.
Rinku Singh, batting at number five, failed to make a significant impact as Avesh Khan bowled him for 4 runs.
KKR briefly lost momentum after three quick wickets but recovered strongly through Cameron Green and Rovman Powell. The duo stitched together an unbeaten 70-run partnership for the fifth wicket in 40 balls, ensuring a solid total. Powell remained unbeaten on 39 off 24 balls, while Green scored 32 not out off 24 deliveries.
For LSG, Prince Yadav, M Siddharth, Digvesh Rathi, and Avesh Khan claimed one wicket each.
Under the leadership of Rishabh Pant, LSG fielded a line-up featuring Mitchell Marsh, Aiden Markram, Nicholas Pooran, Abdul Samad, Mukul Chaudhary, M Siddharth, Avesh Khan, Mohammad Shami, Digvesh Rathi, and Prince Yadav.
KKR, led by Ajinkya Rahane, included Finn Allen, Cameron Green, Angkrish Raghuvanshi, Rovman Powell, Rinku Singh, Ramandeep Singh, Sunil Narine, Anukul Roy, Navdeep Saini, and Kartik Tyagi in their playing XI.
With a total of 181 on the board, KKR will look to capitalise on their strong batting performance, while LSG will aim to chase down the target and maintain their momentum in the tournament.
