In the 38th match of the Indian Premier League 2026, Kolkata Knight Riders faced Lucknow Super Giants on Sunday at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium.
Batting first, KKR managed to put up 155 runs for the loss of seven wickets in their allotted 20 overs.
After losing the toss and being put in to bat, KKR struggled at the top. Tim Seifert fell for a duck to Mohsin Khan. Angkrish Raghuvanshi departed for 9, while skipper Ajinkya Rahane could score only 10 runs off 15 deliveries.
Rovman Powell added just one run before getting out cheaply. Cameron Green attempted to steady the innings with a quick 34 off 21 balls, striking three sixes, but failed to build a longer partnership.
Mohsin Khan dismissed Anukul Roy without scoring, while Ramandeep Singh managed only 6 runs from 11 balls.
Amid the collapse, Rinku Singh delivered a remarkable performance, remaining unbeaten on 83 off 50 balls. His innings included seven boundaries and five sixes, anchoring the KKR total. Sunil Narine provided support at the other end, not out on 4.
For LSG, Mohsin Khan stood out with an exceptional spell, claiming five wickets for just 23 runs in four overs. George Linde chipped in with one wicket, conceding 18 runs.
Led by Ajinkya Rahane, KKR fielded a side featuring Tim Seifert (wicketkeeper), Cameron Green, Angkrish Raghuvanshi, Rovman Powell, Rinku Singh, Sunil Narine, Ramandeep Singh, Anukul Roy, Vaibhav Arora, and Kartik Tyagi.
LSG, under the captaincy of Rishabh Pant, included Aiden Markram, Mitchell Marsh, Nicholas Pooran, Ayush Badoni, Mukul Chaudhary, George Linde, Mohammed Shami, Prince Yadav, Digvesh Singh Rathi, and Mohsin Khan.
Despite early setbacks, KKR managed to post a competitive total. Rinku Singh's outstanding innings played a key role. It set up an intriguing contest for the remainder of the match.
